Browns DL coach Tosh Lupoi will not limit Myles Garrett

Myles Garrett recently made some waves when he mentioned that former Browns defensive coordinator and interim head coach Gregg Williams allowed him to only use two pass rush moves in 2018. New defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi is prepared to let the Pro Bowl defensive end unleash more of his arsenal in 2019 and beyond.

When asked if he saw any benefit to limiting Garrett to just a couple of moves, Lupoi diplomatically dismissed the notion of putting a restrictor plate on the hot rod.

“I wouldn’t be able to understand (or) answer what the benefit would…,” Lupoi said before quickly deciding to not go down the path of the past.

“There’s positives to be built off of, there’s things we can improve,” Lupoi continued. “But again, we’re moving forward.”

Lupoi did seem ready to unleash the full potential of his premier pass rusher.

“As far as Myles, he has shown incredible capability and we certainly want to use a number of tools where we can affect the passer.”
