Browns cut 2019 7th round pick Donnie Lewis Jr.

Among the 37 roster cuts that were announced this afternoon, the Cleveland Browns 2019 seventh round draft selection has not made the team. Defensive back Donnie Lewis Jr., the 221st pick in this past year’s draft, has hit the waiver wire.

Coming out of Tulane, Lewis Jr. slid down draft boards due to an injury suffered in the first practice in preparation for the East versus West Shrine game.

Lewis Jr. played 74 snaps this season, 46 taking place in the slot cornerback position. Additionally, he played 20 snaps on special teams. In the stat-keeping department, Lewis Jr. recorded four tackles and a run stop, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Browns are expected to sneak Lewis Jr. on the practice squad, that is of course if another NFL team does not snatch him off waivers.
