Browns cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. robbed in broad daylight of a Pro Bowl nod

The Cleveland Browns landed five players on the AFC Pro Bowl roster this year with another six listed as alternates. However second-year cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. did not find himself on either list which is an absolute travesty after the great season he has had.

It is absolute robbery that he isn’t at least an alternate, I understand maybe not making him a starter but not an alternate? The numbers back him up, when targeted this year Emerson has allowed a passer rating of 47.8 (Best in the NFL) as well as not letting up a touchdown all season. There aren’t durability concerns as he has played in all 16 games so far this year.

This will likely light a fire under the young player that could result in him taking it to another level. You feel good week in and week out that even if Emerson lets up a reception here and there you know he will win more reps than he loses.

Emerson remembers every corner that was drafted before him and has used that to get even better and this will likely have the same effect. He can match up against any type of receiver because of his unique blend of size, strength, and athleticism. In the end, it was robbery to not recognize the season that Emerson has had.
