Browns coach Hue Jackson announces he'll make good on promise to jump into Lake Erie on June 1

Hue Jackson sent out a save the date for his much-anticipated dip into Lake Erie.

The coach announced Monday in a video tweeted by the Browns that he will take the plunge June 1.

After the Browns went 1-15 in 2016, Jackson vowed to jump into the lake if they finished with the same record the next season. They proceeded to become just the second team in NFL history to go 0-16.

Jackson's leap will be reserved for Browns employees and held at a private location.

The coach reiterated he will use the event to raise money for the Hue Jackson Foundation, which he launched last year with his wife, Michelle, to combat human trafficking throughout Northeast Ohio. With the help of the Salvation Army, the foundation is scheduled to open a residence home for human trafficking survivors in mid-July in Cleveland.

"The time has come for me to make good on my word. On June 1, I'm jumping in the lake," Jackson said in the video. "Fortunately, I'm not going alone. Many members of the Browns organization have agreed to jump with me.

"Giving back to the community is the Browns' way, so I've decided to add a little twist to my jump. Not only will I be making good on my word, we will also be jumping in for a good cause. For every member of the Browns organization that jumps with me, I'm going to donate $100 towards the fight to end human trafficking in Northeast Ohio through the Hue Jackson Foundation. My goal is to get $15,000.

"We are working towards making 2018 a much better year for the Cleveland Browns, and I'm hoping to also cleanse ourselves of all the losing from the past two seasons by jumping in."

For fans who wanted Jackson to test the waters during the winter, he was under doctor's orders to wait for warmer weather because he has had a stent in his heart since 2014.
