Browns check out Northeast Ohio natives at Michigan State pro day

The Cleveland Browns were represented by multiple personnel in East Lansing on Monday for the Michigan State pro day.

There are two Spartans prospects of note: cornerback Justin Layne and running back L.J. Scott. Both have Northeast Ohio roots, too.

Layne, one of the hottest names in scouting circles since an impressive combine earlier in March, is a graduate of Benedictine HS in Cleveland. Scott is from Hubbard HS in the Youngstown area. Neither player participated in the testing portion of the pro day.

Some other Spartans who could catch John Dorsey’s fancy and factor into the Browns draft or post-draft plans:

  • WR Felton Davis
  • TE Matt Sokol
  • LB Andrew Dowell, from St. Edward’s HS and North Ridgeville
  • Safety Khari Willis
