Browns apply to wear ‘Color Rush’ uniforms more than the allowed 3 times in 2019

NFL teams are allowed to wear their special “Color Rush” uniforms for a maximum of three games every season. However, the Cleveland Browns are hoping the league gives them an exemption to wear them more often.

According to a report from Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan, the Browns have applied for permission with the NFL to sport the popular brown and orange uniforms more than the allotted three times. The Browns have heavily promoted the uniforms in their social media, as have players. When Odell Beckham Jr. held up a jersey at his introductory press conference, it was a “Color Rush” edition.

This is the final season for the current Browns uniforms, which feature combinations of colors and designs that are often mixed and matched. The uniforms are being overhauled but cannot be changed until the 2020 season. Cleveland’s “Color Rush” jerseys debuted last season.
