Browns adding more power at RB by signing D’Onta Foreman

The Cleveland Browns made another great free agent signing Thursday, signing veteran running back D’Onta Foreman. Running back depth has been a central question this offseason, especially with the possibility that Nick Chubb might not be ready to play in Week 1.

The news was first reported by Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Now, the team has the luxury of not rushing Chubb back if he’s not ready with a room of Foreman, Jerome Ford, and Nyheim Hines to hold down the fort. Foreman is the short-yardage bruising power back the team has been missing and will slide perfectly into the Kareem Hunt role with the Browns. Even when Chubb is healthy, Foreman will complement him well and make the room in Cleveland well-rounded.

Having addressed the biggest remaining roster hole, Cleveland can enter the draft without forcing any picks or positions to fill an immediate need. The Browns can draft with the future in mind and take the most talented players, knowing they have the luxury of developing on the bench and not being forced to play before they are ready.
