Nick Chubb is back on the active roster.
On Sunday, he'll be back in a Browns game.
The Browns (5-3) announced Saturday they activated Chubb from injured reserve on the eve of their home game against the Houston Texans (2-6).
The move had been expected because the Pro Bowl running back returned to practice Monday and participated throughout the week. He even practiced Thursday and Friday without the bulky knee brace he had donned during the previous two sessions.
"He hit all of the benchmarks," coach Kevin Stefanski said Friday on Zoom.
Chubb will play for the first time since he suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee Oct. 4 during a 49-38 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He missed the past four games.
In the first four games of the season, Chubb had 57 carries for 335 yards (5.9 average) and four touchdowns to go along with three receptions for 17 yards.
The Browns also elevated guard Michael Dunn from the practice squad to active roster.
