Brown Line service resumes after earlier suspension for ‘track switching problems:’ CTA

Brown Line service was suspended between Kimball and Fullerton, Sept. 7, 2019, for track switching problems near Belmont. | Sun-Times file photo

CTA Brown Line trains are running with delays Saturday after over an hour-long disruption due to a track switching problem.

The CTA announced that trains were standing near the Belmont station about 2:10 p.m., and fully suspended service between the Kimball and Fullerton stations about 40 minutes later after the issue could not be quickly resolved.

Normal service was resumed about 3:20 p.m., the transit authority said. Riders are advised to allow for extra travel time due to residual delays and track congestion.
