Brought to justice – cases heard in Cardiff Magistrates’ Court

Nazir Basi, 35, of Elm Street, Roath, Cardiff, was fined £200 after pleading guilty to driving an unlicensed taxi last October. He was also ordered to pay costs totalling £75.

Jack Ellis, 66, of Bryn Heol, Bedwas, Caerphilly, was fined £50 after pleading guilty to driving an unlicensed taxi last October. He was ordered to pay £75 costs.

Sabdesh Kaur, 36, of Pantmawr Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff, was given 150 hours’ community service after she was found guilty of failing to ensure her child attended school between September and November last year. The work must be carried out within the next year. She was also ordered to pay court costs of £50.

Mohammed Miah, 45, of Inverness Place, Roath, Cardiff, was fined £200 after pleading guilty to providing hot food and drink between 11pm and 5am without a licence. He was also ordered to pay costs totalling £75.

Ibrahim Shebani, 49, of Howard Court, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, was fined £100 after pleading guilty to driving an unlicensed taxi. He was also ordered to pay £75 costs.

Rejvinder Singh, 37, of Pantmawr Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff, was ordered to attend appointments with the probation service after being found guilty of failing to ensure his two children attended school between September and November last year. He was also ordered to pay £50 costs.

Jonathan Mark Huxtable, 20, of Haverford Way, Cardiff, was fined £125 after pleading guilty to failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and a licence. He was banned for two years. He was also ordered to pay £15 court costs.

Peter Langlois, 65, of Marlborough Road, Roath, Cardiff, was fined £200 after pleading guilty to driving a Mercedes Sprinter on Wellfield Road, Cardiff, without insurance. He also had six points put on his licence and was ordered to pay £15 costs.

Mohamed Abdelgader, 48, of Pentre Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, was fined £175 with £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge after being convicted of using a television without a licence.
