The brothers of two England World Cup stars were victims of an armed robbery in a Manchester café, it has been reported.

Mail Online reported Dane Rashford – brother of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford – and Tyler Alexander-Arnold – brother of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold – were two of three victims of the violent robbery on Saturday morning.

They were said to have been eating breakfast at Little Rock, a Caribbean café in the Moss Side area of the city, when the raiders struck.

Greater Manchester Police said three men entered the café with a machete, suspected handgun and a baseball bat. The victims were attacked and forced to hand over personal belongings and a set of car keys.

The force said the offenders made off in a white Range Rover belonging to one of the victims, thought to be Mr Alexander-Arnold, and a white BMW 3 Series. The Range Rover was later found in the Fallowfield area of the city.

Mr Rashford, Mr Alexander-Arnold and a third unnamed victim were hospitalised, though their injuries were not thought to be serious.

Marcus Rashford went on to score for United in his side’s 1-0 win at Tottenham on Sunday, while Trent Alexander-Arnold played in Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Brighton on Saturday. The pair were team mates in England's 2018 World Cup squad.

Four suspects aged 18, 19, 23 and 58 - as well as two males aged 17 - were arrested on suspicion of robbery on Saturday.

Supt Mark Dexter said: "Thankfully no-one was seriously injured but the victims have been left understandably shaken following this incident.

"It is thanks to the swift action of our officers that we now have six men in custody, but this investigation is still very much ongoing and officers will be in the area today continuing with inquiries.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with dashcam footage of the BMW or Range Rover around the time of the incident."
