Football fans in need of a fix this weekend should look no further than the story of Corinthian FC of London and a match in Brazil delayed by 100 years.
Documentary 'Brothers in Football' details Corinthian FC of London, once considered by many as the best team in the world.
The team embarked on numerous tours in the early 20th century, from South Africa to Canada to Jamaica to Brazil, and were credited with making the sport popular across the globe.
One tour in Brazil inspired five railway workers in Sao Paulo to found Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, now the biggest and richest club in Brazil.
A second tour to Brazil was abandoned upon arrival due to the outbreak of World War One, in which the lives of many players were subsequently lost.
'Brothers in Football' tells how the club, now in the guise of Isthmian League Premier Division Corinthian-Casuals following a merge with Casuals FC in 1939, embarked on a 6,000km pilgrimage to complete the abandoned tour and play Corinthians in front of a crowd 100 times the size of their usual gate.
Director Chris Watney details the journey and spoke to the likes of Michael Owen, Steve McManaman, Arsenal technical director Edu and Brazil head coach Tite along the way.
The film is available to watch on ITV Hub from Sunday, May 10, and will be broadcast on ITV4 from 9am BST on the same day.
