Brothers go viral with bagpipes rendition of Mamma Mia on Linwood street

Two brothers are keeping spirits high on their street with renditions of ABBA and other pop classics on the bagpipes and drums.

Craig and Chris Lawrie both live in Linwood and have been entertaining their neighbours during lockdown with a selection of music - from Gerry Cinnamon to Kings of Leon.

The brothers play together in the band Drums ’n’ Roses and a recent video of the pair gieing it laldy has now gone viral on social media - and we can see why!

Speaking to Glasgow Live, Craig said: “I played myself a few weeks ago and people seemed to really enjoy it.

“So my brother got involved and that’s now the second time we’ve played together.

“We love doing unexpected covers of songs - it does surprise people sometimes when they go ‘wait a minute, that’s not Scotland the Brave!’

“It’s amazing to see how much people have enjoyed it online but we haven’t done it to get noticed - we just want to cheer folk up during the lockdown.”

One thing’s for sure - we’re definitely charmed!

“It’s all about just trying to bring a smile on people’s faces. People have really loved it and the reaction has always been the same.
