Brothers and pal who ran drugs phone line as 'Woody', 'Tyson' and 'Rocky' forced boy to deal cocaine and heroin

A pair of brothers and their pal who ran a drugs phone line under the names 'Woody', 'Tyson' and 'Rocky' forced a 15-year-old boy to deal cocaine and heroin.

Ratib Ali, 20 and Asad Ali, 19, and their housemate Janaid Rehman, 18, threatened the teenager, making him selling the class A drugs.

They told him he owed them money and the only way to pay it off was to be a mule.

He was driven around in a car and forced to hand drugs to buyers.

Cops investigating drugs supply and modern slavery across Greater Manchester smashed the operation last year.

Investigations revealed the trio operated three separate drug phone lines from their house on Royds Street West in Rochdale.

The men were arrested and had four phones confiscated.

Examination of the mobiles showed hundreds of calls had been made to clients.

Police later found a large stash of money at the trio's house.

Rehman and the brothers - all of Royds Street West - were sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday.

Ratib Ali was sentenced to four years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply and cocaine and conspiracy to supply heroin.

His brother Asadwas jailed for four years and nine months having admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to supply heroin.

Rehman was handed a two-year sentence for conspiracy to supply cocaine.

GMP Detective Chief Inspector Rick Hunt said: “This gang targeted and exploited a young boy, forcing him into a world of drug dealing and crime under threat of violence.

“He is now receiving help from specialist officers as he continues adjusting to a normal life away from the clutches of these despicable individuals.

“This was a large drugs conspiracy responsible for distributing a significant amount of class a drugs.

“But they were brought down thanks to the dedication and professionalism of our officers, who were able to utilise a broad range of surveillance and information gathering techniques to piece together this conspiracy."
