Brother's Burgers named as finalist at British Takeaway Awards

A takeaway on Merseyside is competing for a top prize at the British Takeaway Awards.

The American fast food outlet is one of five in the north west heading to the star studded ceremony at The Savoy in London in the new year.

Brother’s Burgers, on Thatto Heath Road, St Helens , will hope to walk away with the ‘Best Takeaway’ award.

The takeway serves food that is freshly prepared daily and none of it is frozen.

Reacting to the news on their Instagram account , they posted: "So it’s times like these that makes what we do worth while, thank you to all our customers who continue to support what we are doing and thank you for being a major part in this!

"We can’t thank you all enough and without your amazing custom and support this simply doesn’t happen!

"We have always said from the offset you are what’s important and of course making sure our food is of a high standard always!! Thank you again and it’s greatly appreciate."

Other North West finalists include Cafe at the End of the Universe, in Warrington, LAPD Food in Stockport, Old Mother Hubbards in Oldham and Shakes & Bites in Manchester.

The British Takeaway Awards honour the unsung heroes of the sector who work hard across Great Britain.

Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriot, Graham Corfield from Just Eat and Dragons’ Den star Sarah Willingham are amongst the judging panel.

The panel will choose 12 regional winners who will each win £1,000, and then go on to crown an overall winner who will be named Best Takeaway in Britain and receive £5,000.

The ceremony takes place on January 27, 2020.

Andrew Kenny, managing director of Just Eat said: “We are excited to be back for the fifth year running to celebrate the local takeaways across Britain that provide their communities with quality food, outstanding customer service and joy.

"This year, we saw a tremendous amount of votes in Central London. The calibre of restaurants is high so the judges will have their work cut out picking a winner!”
