The brother of double murderer Frank McCann has said the twisted arsonist should never be allowed out of prison.
Bernard McCann said he would be “fearful” of his sibling being released because of his “devious” nature.
The brute murdered his wife Esther and a child in 1992 by deliberately setting fire to a house while they slept.
Bernard told RTE's Liveline: “If you think of how devious he was to set up this whole scenario... I think the man is dangerous, absolutely dangerous.
“I gave evidence against him in court and I would do it again. I always said, if he had robbed a bank, I would have just let the Guards do their job, but not when you take a life and especially an 18-month-old.”
Frank is believed to have carried out the murders in an attempt to cover up the fact he had fathered a kid with a 17-year-old girl some years beforehand.
The twisted killer has been getting day release from Arbour Hill prison since 2018 and Esther’s sister Marian Leonard told Liveline she would fear for her safety if he is handed his freedom.
She said: “I’ve never believed in the death penalty but I don’t think he should ever be released. There’s no telling what he might do. Nobody can assure me he won’t murder again.”
Marian revealed her nephew saw Frank in the street while he was out on day release, adding: “How can my family be safe?”
Bernard believes there is no good in his brother and said he is “beyond redemption”.
He added: “I think the man is dangerous.
“Every time I see his photograph it sickens me.
“I hope he rots in there.”
