Brother of missing Scots teen says CCTV shows him falling into water

The brother of a missing teenager has claimed new CCTV footage has shown him falling into the water in Stranraer on Saturday night.

Evan Stewart disappeared after he was last seen on Foundry Lane at around midnight between Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9.

His brother Drew David Stewart took to Facebook to update worried friends and family after they turned out to search for the 18-year-old this afternoon.

He wrote: "Thank you to everyone who showed their support in the search for my brother Evan.

"Unfortunately CCTV footage shows him falling in the water late Saturday night.

"The family appreciate everything."

Evan's loved ones met at the Lifeboat House at around midday.

They searched along the Broadstone and the pier whilst the ILB searched Loch Ryan.

Police say Evan is still a missing person and they are searching for him along the coast.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "He's still missing at this time.

"Officers have extended their search for him around the coast at Stranraer and are being assisted by members of the coastguard agency.

"Evan's family will be kept informed."

Evan is described as being around 5ft 10in tall and of average build with short brown hair.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a white hooded top, grey trousers and blue trainers. He was also wearing glasses with silver frames.
