BHOPAL: "After the video of my brother has surfaced in the media, I am very troubled, my family is getting defamed. I am committing suicide out of my will, what would I do by living more," wrote Nagesh Tomar, 28, before hanging himself to death at around 11.30 am in Betul district on Monday.
Nagesh was the elder brother of late Bhanu Thakur, 26, who had entered a woman's house, killed her, her cousin and a neighbour and then shot himself dead on July 10. Before committing the crime, Bhanu had also shot a video and shared it on social media, claiming that only the girl he killed is responsible for his act.
SP Betul Simala Prasad said, "Nagesh was elder to the accused who committed suicide after killing three people on July 10; he used to run a tea stall. A suicide note has also been recovered wherein he had written that he is troubled by the defamation that the incident had brought".
"Deceased went to the tea stall as usual on Monday, the incident of July 10, had become talk of the town and he was already depressed and it is suspected that on Monday too, he heard people talking about the same and then rushed to his house and committed suicide. Investigation is going on", said the SP.
Police is now providing counselling to other family members so that similar incidents could be averted.
Deceased Bhanu Thakur and Barkha Soni, used to know each other for the last few years. Bhanu was a truck driver and Barkha was pursuing her BSc.
