Bross Bagels to reopen Bruntsfield store for collections this weekend

Popular Edinburgh deli Bross Bagels is to reopen to customers for collection orders this weekend, its owners have announced.

The legendary takeaway is universally acknowledged as the place to go for monster-sized, delicious bagels in Edinburgh, with branches in Bruntsfield, Leith, Portobello, Stockbridge and the West End.

The deli closed in line with government restrictions laid down in March amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the original Bruntsfield store is now set to offer one person from each household to collect online orders in the shop as part of a limited menu.

Hungry capital locals will be sent a time to collect their order, provided they comply with social distancing guidelines.

A post on the deli's Facebook page on Friday read: "Over the last 7 weeks Bross deli deliveries have kept you bagel addicts happy and our business afloat. Your bagel love and support throughout this pandemic so far has been incredible! But when oh when can you rock up to Bross and get your hole filled by the pros!? TOMORROW!

"BRUNTSFIELD! 12-4pm!!!! We are ridiculously excited to trial our new contactless collection operation where you’ll be able to ORDER ONLINE and given a COLLECTION TIME and told when ONE PERSON from each household will be able to come to Bruntsfield to GET THEIR HOLE!

"Limited menu & hours & staff so please be kind - we will do our best to get you what you’ve been missing.

It added: "Order from our website from 10am // choose your bagels // sides // drinks // bring confirmation code with you // obey our social distancing queue system // please don’t come before your pick up time. If we can ALL do this SAFELY we will start opening other shops and increasing opening hours and extending menu offerings.
