Bros star Matt Goss announces bid to be Prime Minister when he turns 60 in 2028

Bros star Matt Goss will launch his bid to be Prime Minister in 2028.

The 51-year-old has revealed plans to stand as a party leader and run the country at the age of 60 - and he’ll reach that milestone in eight years time.

“I’m going to run for Prime Minister when I turn 60,” he announced from his home in Las Vegas, adding, in case anyone thought he was joking: “I am - I really am.”

That’ll set the Cat Among the Pigeons...

Matt, who remarked last year that he had “a few thoughts on Brexit ” should then PM Theresa May need a hand sorting it all out, has already been working on his manifesto.

“I promise conkers won’t be the first on my list,” he laughs, after passionately expressing his frustrations that conkers were deemed a health and safety risk during 2018’s Bros documentary film, After The Screaming Stops.

Matt’s advice to the current Government would be to freeze all mortgages and rents with immediate effect, and to be aware there is no “magic button” to help ease the country out of lockdown.

It comes as Matt unveiled plans in November to dominate television with his own talk show.

The 51-year-old has already had a taste of grilling celebrities during BBC4’s A Night In With Bros.

For that he interviewed Mo Farrah, Frank Bruno and Katherine Ryan.

“I really enjoyed it,” he says. “I want to do a show that’s not about me. I want it to be good conversation, fun and emotional.”

He says: “There would be three individual guests but I don’t want my guests to share a couch.

“I think that being interviewed sometimes you feel like you don’t have enough time. I want to have a slightly deeper dive. Something that has a sexy vibe.”
