Brooks Koepka explained what’s the most frustrating part of J.B. Holmes’ slow play

Brooks Koepka’s incredible year at the majors came to an end Sunday with a fourth place finish at the Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.

Koepka became just the fourth player (joining Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and Jordan Spieth) in modern golf to finish fourth or better in all four majors in a season.

And he did it all while playing Sunday’s final round with J.B. Holmes, who’s easily one of the slowest players on Tour, which seemed to annoy Koepka many times during the round. It also didn’t help that Holmes shot a 16-over, 87.

Koepka didn’t hide his feelings about Holmes’ slow play during the round as he did this while walking off the 12th green:

And one time he couldn’t even stand to wait and watch Holmes finish up a hole:

After the round Koepka explained what makes Holmes so annoying to play with:

Anybody who has played golf knows how dreadful it can be to play with a slow player.

Good on Koepka for being open about this, too. Because this message needs to be delivered often to the many players on Tour who move at a snail’s pace.
