Murdock and 12 O'Clock dead: Rappers linked to Wu Tang Clan killed in shooting

Two rappers linked to Wu Tang clan have been shot dead.

12 O'Clock and Murdock, who real names were David Turner, 45, and Odion Turner, 42, were members of the rap group Brooklyn Zu.

Brooklyn Zu made its debut featuring on an album by Wu Tang member Ol' Dirty Bastard released in 1995.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined both men died from gunshot wounds and ruled their deaths homicides, Portland police said.

The shooting happened at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Four other people were injured in the shooting, including one person who remains hospitalised with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Young Dirty Bastard, the son of the late Wu Tang rap legend Ol' Dirty Bastard, paid tribute to the two victims in an Instagram post.

He wrote: "Rip 12 O'Clock. Rip Murdock. They Were My Fathers Tightest blood bonds. My Two Older cousins Was just assassinated. Love Yalll. Blood Forever. Brooklyn Zu."

A home surveillance video taken from near the scene appeared to capture nearly 20 gunshots and a car speeding away.

Stephon Turner, Odion's brother said the two victims were in a RV trailer with Odion's younger when someone knocked on the front door and asked for a cigarette, Oregon Live reports.

Murdock reportedly opened the door and the stranger fired multiple shots at both him and 12 O'Clock, he said.

Odion Turner's younger brother was in the back of the RV trailer and hit the floor, Stephon said.

Stephon Turner said he believes the double killing was motivated by "jealousy, lust, hate and greed."

Police said the investigation is still ongoing.

The two men's deaths marked the 57th and 58th homicides this year in Portland, which is more homicides than Portland recorded in all of 2020, police said.

In a video posted on Instagram, Divine Turner said his father, 12 O'Clock, had been killed.

"So I'm out of town away from home on business and I get the call that they murdered my father," Turner said. "I don't know what to do."

He captioned the video: "It's a sad day for me... They assassinated my father in #Oregon."

The group had tied to Wu Tang Clan (WENN)

Princhesca Rainier Turner, Odion Turner's wife of over 20 years who lives in Florida, said her husband was killed the same day their daughter had a baby.

"August 10, 2021 How could one day bring so much joy and so much pain?" she said on Instagram.

"My heart doesn't know how to separate being empty and full at the same time."

Rest in peace.
