Brooklyn Decker has backtracked over suggestions Sports Illustrated Photoshopped her cover after the magazine refuted claims a house was digitally added into the image.
Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week, Decker who has now focused her career on acting after appearing in films including What to Expect When You’re Expecting and Battleship, explained how she doesn’t really miss modelling.
Decker, who is married to tennis star Andy Roddick, discussed how rejection in the modelling world can be difficult before summarising what it takes to be a model: “You become a model after hair, make-up and Photoshop”.
During her modelling career, Decker graced the highly sought after Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover in 2010. The iconic magazine cover’s list of models reads like a who’s who of model royalty having previously featured Elle MacPherson, Beyonce, Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Kate Upton and Chrissy Teigen. Last year, the magazine made headlines for featuring size 16 model Ashley Graham on the cover.
Discussing the cover with Colbert, Decker did a walk through of her Sports Illustrated cover and suggested all is not what it seems.
The 29-year-old said the house in the back of the picture was not really there but Photoshopped in. Discussing her body, she said: “See this ab, that’s like the magic of lighting right there so thank you Sports Illustrated… it’s a lot of smoke and mirrors.”
But Sports Illustrated recalled differently and shared a behind-the-scenes image of the shoot which shows the house, under the headline ‘Brooklyn Decker’s memory may not be flawless, but she still is’.
After the magazine shared their article on Twitter, Decker appeared to concede she’d been mistaken sharing an embarrassed emoji and blaming “Mom brain”.
Decker gave birth to her first child with tennis star husband Andy Roddick in September.
