Brooklyn Beckham swaps UK for US as he abandons pub plan to open burger restaurant

Brooklyn Beckham is back with a brand new venture. The 26-year-old has reportedly entered stage four of his career masterplan, with the budding photographer-turned-chef-turned-hot sauce creator adding budding restaurateur to his multi-hyphenate list.

It was only a matter of time. The eldest Beckham child has long expressed a wish to bring British food over to the United States, where he lives with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Except Brooklyn’s plan isn’t British at all. In fact, it couldn’t be less British. He’s now launching a burger company, entitled Beck’s Buns, which is reportedly set to be supported by his billionaire father-in-law, Nelson Peltz.

The news has ruffled feathers once again due to the ongoing Beckham feud, with Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz having apparently “quit” the Beckham family this year.

The Peltz-Beckhams have dodged events with Brooklyn’s side of the family for multiple months and refused to acknowledge multiple Beckham family milestones on social media. In August, Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham renewed their vows after three years of marriage — without a single Beckham family member present. David and Victoria Beckham are said to be “heartbroken” over the feud.

“Brooklyn has long dreamed of opening a restaurant where he lives and that is finally coming to fruition,” a source told The Sun.

“He has created Beck's Buns and quietly launched it on social media last month. Brooklyn's company Buster Sauce Inc owns the trademark and he is planning to open a restaurant.

“The menu is still being decided but it’ll be high quality burgers with his signature Buster hot sauces.”

For true Brooklyn Beckham-heads, this pivot will come as quite the surprise. Beckham has previously expressed a wish to open a pub over in the US, where he can serve proper British pub grub.

He first expressed this wish in 2022, telling Variety: “I would love to have my own pub. I would love to have my own sauces, knives, pots and pans. Not like a chef — I’m always going to be learning about cooking.

“I want to have so many TV shows, and hopefully one day open up a pub in L.A., because L.A. needs a pub.” He suggested that the pub could be in Beverly Hills or Brentwood, where he could serve “a healthier version of comfort food.”

More recently, he mentioned his wish to bring British food over to the States in a GQ interview this July. “Obviously, growing up in England, fish and chips, pie and mash, beans on toast, those were my go-tos,” Beckham said. “At some point I would love to try and bring British culture and British food to the US. We’ll see.”

This is merely the latest milestone in the Americanisation of Brooklyn Beckham. After growing up primarily in London, he now permanently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and their dogs. He spends much of his time promoting his hot sauce, Cloud 23, which is now stocked at the illustrious Los Angeles supermarket Erewhon.
