Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have snubbed the Met Gala following a weird weekend in London for David Beckham’s birthday bash — which they also didn’t attend.
This intensifies rumours of a feud between the Beckham family, with Brooklyn apparently on bad terms with the rest of his family members due to his brother Romeo’s relationship with his old school friend, Kim Turnbull.
However, the family appeared ready to kiss and makeup this weekend as David Beckham welcomed one and all to his glitzy, celebrity-studded 50th birthday bash at Core in Kensington.
Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and Nicola Peltz, 30, had both flown to London in anticipation of the big celebration after they were conspicuously absent from his earlier birthday party in Miami.
This absence sparked the feud rumours, with TMZ reporting that Brooklyn had fallen out with the rest of his family due to Romeo, 22, dating Kim Turnbull, 24. Turnbull is a London-based DJ who used to hang out with Brooklyn Beckham when they were younger.
It was reported that Brooklyn and Kim also dated, but Cruz Beckham, 20, put these rumours to bed when he commented “Brooklyn and Kim never dated” in reply to a fan on Instagram who asked about the situation.
According to TMZ, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz cancelled plans to attend the Met Gala in order to attend David Beckham’s big birthday bash. However, they apparently had one condition: that Kim Turnbull not be present at the event.
The family said no, which meant Brooklyn Beckham refused to attend.
A source told the tabloid: “They cancelled plans to attend the Met because they really intended to be at David’s party on Saturday.
“But Brooklyn is really upset that blame for the rift has been levelled at Nicola.
“She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive — she’s a loyal wife.”
Later in the Bank Holiday weekend, David Beckham shared pictures from a boys’ trip to Scotland, where he, Romeo and Cruz had gone fishing — without Brooklyn.
The former Manchester United star did address the obvious absence of his third son, writing on his Instagram story: “You were missed @brooklynpeltzbeckham”.
