Brooke Vincent says 'we're all just winging it' in honest parenting admission

Former Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has been praised by fans after making a candid admission about the reality of parenting.

Brook, who previously played Sophie Webster in the ITV soap, is mum to her two young children Mexx, three, and Monroe, two. She shares her sons, who she described as her 'absolute world', with her footballer fiancé Kean Bryan.

But taking to Instagram on Sunday (July 9), she reassured other mums and dads as she admitted 'being a parent is hard.' Sharing two adorable photos of her children, Brooke said she noticed some 'changes' in the boys since she returned to work.

The 31-year-old, who is currently co-hosting the Drivetime show on Hits Radio while fellow former soap star Gemma Atkinson is on maternity leave, added that the changes 'haven't all been positive.'

She continued: "I’m going to be completely honest i don’t really know how to make them better or if I’m just going to have to ride the wave of “terrible 2s / 3s".' Addressing her sons age gap, she said: "I constantly get DMs off people asking does it get easier with the two of them being so close in age.. truth is no... But the good news is you’re not alone."

Brooke added: "I think the majority of people I speak to say the same whether it’s one or more children.. we’re all just winging it. I just wanted to put this out because we are constantly on the go & I can take pics that show a split second of calmness when the reality is it’s f****** chaos 99% of the time!"

Adding that she used to 'sit and cry' thinking she was doing parenting wrong, Brooke said: "Truth is people just don’t speak openly and honestly about it a lot!" She finished on a motivational note, writing: "So a little reminder to everyone out there raising a child.. YOU are ENOUGH & be kind to yourself because you’re learning too!!"

Friends and fans could relate to Brooke's struggles, while many praised her for being so honest. Some took to the comments to share their own, similar stories.

One fan said: "Well said brooke love your honesty," as a second wrote: "Love your honesty! There’s not enough parents out there keeping it real, which in turn, makes other parents think they’re doing it wrong." A third penned: "no truer words," with a red heart emoji.
