Bronny James has been working out with former NBA star Gilbert Arenas

The budding rivalry between the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers will kick off the NBA season as the league is building around the two teams that many see as the top contenders to win the championship in the Western Conference. But in the Los Angeles basketball scene, the upcoming season for Bronny James and his Sierra Canyon team may be just as big.

Bronny was just in China with his squad, wowing big crowds across the pacific. And we all know that he has access to his GOAT basketball player of a father to work on his game but he’s been doing more than that. According to former NBA star and current Big 3 player Gilbert Arenas, Bronny has gotten in some work with No Chill Gil, according to Bleacher Report’s Leo Spekowitz.

Arenas has worked with fellow players’ children, too, like Bronny James. (“The only person that’s gonna challenge LeBron’s stats is the next one coming,” he says. “He’s a super freak.”)

With Bronny coming of age in the NBA’s 3-point era, working with one of the great perimeter scorers of the last two decades in Arenas is a great idea. Bronny is still only 14 but he’s also only 6-2, so training with a point guard of Arenas’ pedigree is a pretty good idea.
