Brondby are bracing themselves for a UEFA charge after their fans’ missile-throwing shame at Ibrox.
Rangers skipper James Tavernier had to dodge an array of objects - including a lighter - as he was targeted by the away supporters while taking a corner during Thursday night’s Europa League clash.
A photographer was also left bleeding after being struck on the head during the disturbances.
Tavernier had the last laugh, however, as he swung in a perfect delivery for Leon Balogun to bullet home the opener in a 2-0 win which has fired Steven Gerrard ’s team back into the hunt for a slot in the last 32.
But the Danes could now find themselves in serious bother with UEFA disciplinary chiefs amid reports their fans also allegedly hurled missiles at home fans.
Footage posted on social media sites appears to show the travelling support clashing with police while trying to breach a security cordon.
A spokesman for European football’s governing body said: “UEFA is currently waiting for the official reports.”
If the Danes are charged, they could be hit with a partial or full stadium closure for the return match.
