Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders: ‘I feel really good’

Broncos veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders suffered a season-ending Achilles injury last December but he rehabbed throughout the offseason and was back on the field for the start of training camp earlier this week.

Denver plans to ease Sanders back into action slowly but it was a great sign to see that he’s already practicing, albeit on a limited basis.

“Moving around, feeling no pain, feeling good and feeling like myself,” Sanders said after practice Thursday. “I know a lot of people didn’t expect that, so it’s just a testament of all the hard work I put in, all the pain that I went through to be standing right here in front of you guys.

“I feel really good and I’m blessed to say that.”

Sanders impressed new quarterback Joe Flacco with how quickly he was able to get himself back on the field.

“Emmanuel, the way I’ve seen him work this whole offseason, he’s looked incredible,” Flacco said Thursday. “I think he’s done a great job getting himself to where he is right now so it’s good to see him going.”

Sanders, 32, caught 71 receptions for 868 yards and scored six touchdowns last season. He’s set to become a free agent in 2020.
