Broncos WR Courtland Sutton excited to team up with Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler

The Denver Broncos selected wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler in the first two rounds of this year’s draft, adding them to an offense that already includes Pro Bowler Courtland Sutton.

During a Zoom conference call with reporters on Thursday, Sutton said the team’s wide receivers should be exciting to watch in 2020.

“I love the way he plays,” Sutton said of Jeudy. “I do think that he’s going to be able to bring value to our room. He’s going to add a lot more pressure to defenses with his speed [and] his route running ability. I think it’s going to open up a lot for a lot of the guys on the field.”

Jeudy is expected to become Denver’s No. 2 receiver, lining up across from Sutton. Hamler is expected to become the No. 3 receiver, lining up in the slot.

“I heard a lot about KJ from [DaeSean Hamilton] and how he is a speedster, a baller, a playmaker . . . . I think that he’s also going to be able to be somebody who threatens defenses and helps [the offense],” Sutton said.

The Broncos had the fifth-fewest passing yards (3,401) last season and the fewest passing touchdowns (16) in the league. After surrounding quarterback Drew Lock with playmakers, Denver should have a much better passing attack this season.
