Broncos won’t place 1-year tender on LB Jerrol Garcia-Williams

The Denver Broncos have placed one-year tenders on four of their exclusive rights free agents but the team opted not to tender linebacker Jerrol Garcia-Williams, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Garcia-Williams (6-2, 235 pounds) signed with the Broncos as a college free agent out of Hawaii following the 2017 NFL draft. During his time with the Warriors, Garcia-Williams totaled 148 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

He failed to make Denver’s 53-man roster as a rookie but was signed to the team’s 10-man practice squad. Five weeks into the 2017 season, Garcia-Williams was promoted to the active roster to contribute on special teams.

Garcia-Williams was a key special teams player as a rookie, dressing for 11 games. He appeared poised to make the 53-man roster in 2018 and continue contributing on special teams before tearing his ACL during training camp.

After suffering a season-ending injury last August, Garcia-Williams was placed on injured reserve. He rehabbed with the team last season and will now become a free agent after not receiving a tender from the Broncos.
