Broncos won’t make a change at quarterback

After the Broncos’ offense scored just six points against the Chiefs on Thursday evening, coach Vic Fangio was asked during his media availability Friday if the team will consider making changes on offense.

“We consider that every week,” Fangio said. “Win or lose, but we’re not going to make a change just for the sake of making a change. We’ll look at it closely and weigh the alternatives, and we’ll make a decision.”

Fangio was then asked if quarterback is one of the positions where they will consider making a change. His answer was short: “No.”

That’s not surprising because the only non-Joe Flacco option at the moment is Brandon Allen, who is yet to attempt a pass in a regular season NFL game. Drew Lock is still on injured reserve and won’t be eligible to play until Week 11.

After Lock returns to practice, Denver will have to decide if he’s going to be activated to the 53-man roster. If Lock is brought back from IR, then it will be a more logical time for media to ask about a possible QB change.
