Broncos will re-sign CB De’Vante Bausby to 1-year deal

The Denver Broncos are re-signing cornerback De’Vante Bausby on a one-year deal, according to multiple media reports. Bausby’s salary will be close to the league minimum, according to Brandon Krisztal of KOA Radio.

Bausby (6-2, 190 pounds) entered the league as a college free agent out of Pittsburg State with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015. He went on to spend time with the Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles before landing in the Alliance of American Football last spring.

After the AAF folded, Bausby signed a one-year deal with Denver. He was originally expected to be a third- or fourth-string cornerback but due to injuries and poor play by cornerbacks above him on the depth chart, Bausby emerged as a starter and performed well.

Bausby totaled 13 tackle and broke up three passes in five games last season before suffering a season-ending neck injury. He has since recovered from that injury and will be a rotational cornerback this season.
