Broncos will host OL Dalton Risner on pre-draft visit

The Denver Broncos will host Kansas State offensive tackle Dalton Risner on one of their top-30 pre-draft visits, Jordan Reid of Cover 1 first reported last week.

The Broncos also spoke with Risner at the Senior Bowl in January. Risner, a Colorado native, went out of his way at the Senior Bowl to talk with Denver general manager John Elway.

The Broncos just signed right tackle Ja’Wuan James to a four-year, $51 million contract and they haven’t given up on left tackle Garett Bolles. Denver may be considering Risner as a potential guard prospect.

After allowing center Matt Paradis to sign with the Carolina Panthers during free agency, the Broncos are moving guard Connor McGovern to center. That has left a hole at right tackle — perhaps a hole that could be filled by Risner.

Risner is projected to be selected between the second and third rounds of the draft, according to WalterFootball.com. Denver owns selections Nos. 41 and 71 in that part of the draft.
