Broncos will host CB Kris Boyd on pre-draft visit

The Denver Broncos already signed two cornerbacks — Kareem Jackson and Bryce Callahan — during NFL free agency but the team may not be done adding cornerbacks to its roster this offseason.

The Broncos will host Texas cornerback Kris Boyd on a pre-draft visit this week, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. Boyd (5-11, 201 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 19 times at the combine earlier this offseason.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Boyd to M.J. Stewart, who was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of last year’s draft. Stewart started in five games as a rookie in 2018.

During his four years with the Longhorns, Boyd totaled 172 tackles, one sack and three interceptions. He also broke up 35 passes, recovered two fumbles and forced three fumbles.

Denver has three talented CBs in Chris Harris, Jackson and Callahan but the team could still use more depth at the position. Boyd may be among the cornerbacks the Broncos will target during the draft.
