Broncos will allow 5,700 fans starting in Week 3

The Denver Broncos will not have fans in attendance when they host the Tennessee Titans at Empower Field at Mile High in Week 1. Denver will begin hosting a limited number of fans beginning in Week 3.

When the Broncos host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 27, Denver will have 5,700 fans in attendance. That’s approximately 7.5 percent of the stadium’s capacity (76,125 for a usual event).

Season ticket holders will automatically be “entered into a weighted lottery based on priority number for single-game tickets and parking passes with an on-sale date within the next week,” according to a press release from the team.

The limited number of fans who are allowed will have to wear masks and practice social distancing guidelines. Any fans who do not wear masks or follow social distancing guidelines will be asked to leave the stadium. Tailgating also won’t be allowed.

“Fans are required to take their temperature before heading to the stadium,” the team said in a statement. “Fans should stay home if they are sick, showing any COVID-19 symptoms or if they have come in close contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19.”

The Broncos’ added safety measures for the 2020 season include the installation of 500 hand sanitizer stations at the stadium.
