There are only 11 franchises in the NFL that have won multiple Super Bowls. The Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers are among them.
The Broncos and Packers have played 14 times across their histories and one of those meetings came in the Super Bowl.
Though the all-time series between these two teams is very even, it is completely lopsided in games played at Lambeau Field. In fact, the Packers are undefeated against the Broncos in their home stadium.
Since the Packers play in the NFC, the Broncos don’t see them often. The teams have not played since 2015 and the last time the Broncos made the trip to the “frozen tundra” was in October 2011.
There have been five games between these two teams at Lambeau Field. The closest the Broncos came to defeating the Pack came in the first game the teams ever played there, back in September 1987. That game ended in a 17-17 tie.
Since then, the Packers have won the other four games and three of those victories have come by an average margin of 30.7 points.
For the Broncos to get their first-ever win at Lambeau, they’ll have to pull a big upset. Though the season is still in its infancy, Green Bay is already 2-0 and the Broncos are 0-2, a spot the team hasn’t been in for quite some time.
The last time the Broncos and Packers squared off, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers had perhaps the worst game of his career (but it’s worth noting that the two teams look very different now).
It was November 1, 2015. Rodgers completed 14-of-22 passes but threw for just 77 yards and was sacked three times as the Broncos rolled to a 29-10 victory.
Denver leads the all-time series 7-6-1. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 am MT and the game will be televised on FOX.
