Broncos vets reached out to Noah Fant after team drafted him

After the Denver Broncos selected Iowa tight end Noah Fant in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, he heard from three key players in Denver: quarterback Joe Flacco and outside linebackers Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.

“Von Miller texted me, Joe Flacco texted me, Bradley Chubb texted me,” Fant said during a press conference on Friday. “All great guys that have reached out to me, from the tight ends room: Troy Fumagalli, Jake Butt — all those guys. I felt a very warm welcome coming in. I can tell that those guys are great teammates, so I am looking forward to getting here and working with them.”

Fant will be reunited with former Hawkeye linebacker Josey Jewell with the Broncos. He will also become teammates with another Iowa alumnus: long snapper Casey Kreiter. Fant had not yet run into the two Hawkeyes as of Friday morning.

“I have not spoken to Josey or Casey yet but when I came on my top 30 visits, they had nothing but great things to say,” Fant said. “They said they loved it here. Josey said he’s going to set his family here and he loves the city and everything about it. I have no doubt that I’ll l feel the same and I’m just very excited to be here.”

It’s safe to say Fant should feel right at home in Denver.
