Broncos’ updated cornerback depth chart after signing De’Vante Bausby

The Denver Broncos have placed plenty of emphasis on the cornerback position this offseason, hoping they can bring back the “No Fly Zone.”

In addition to signing Kareem Jackson and Bryce Callahan during free agency, Denver was also quick to snag De’Vante Bausby after the Alliance of American Football went under.

Bausby had four interceptions in eight games as a member of the San Antonio Commanders.

So how do these moves make the team’s current depth chart look at the position? Let’s take a look. One thing to remember is that Brendan Langley, a former third-round pick, will be trying to make the team as a wide receiver.

Starters: Chris Harris, Kareem Jackson

Chris Harris is looking for more money and if the Broncos are smart, he’ll get it. One of the corners they already gave big money to, Jackson, should line up to start the season across from Harris.

Nickelback: Bryce Callahan

Perhaps the most intriguing signing the Broncos made this offseason, Callahan is familiar with Vic Fangio and his defensive scheme and he should make an immediate impact with this team.

Second-string: Isaac Yiadom, De’Vante Bausby

The new guy, Bausby, jumps right up into a good position with a decent chance to make the final 53-man roster.

Yiadom had his struggles as a rookie, but hopefully, the experience he gained will carry over as a positive in his second season. The team had high hopes for him after making him a third-round pick last year.

Third-string: Craig Mager, Horace Richardson, Linden Stephens

All three of these players will face long odds of making the team, particularly if Denver adds a cornerback in the draft. However, they’ll have the chance to push Bausby for a roster spot.

Craig Mager has experience in the league, having played in 24 games as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers, which could help his chances of making the team. He’s still a longshot, though.
