Broncos trade down in 1st round of 2019 NFL draft

The Denver Broncos traded their 10th overall NFL draft pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday evening. In exchange for the pick, the Steelers sent the Broncos their first-round pick (20th overall) second-round pick (52nd overall) and a third-round pick in 2020.

With the 10th overall pick, Pittsburgh selected Michigan inside linebacker Devin Bush. Bush (5-11, 234 pounds) was widely considered the second-best inside linebacker in this year’s class behind LSU’s Devin White (who was selected with the No. 5 pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

Bush ran a 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 21 times at the combine earlier this offseason. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Bush to Stephen Tulloch, who was a fourth-round pick in the 2006 NFL draft.

After using the 20th pick, Denver is scheduled to make three more selections on Friday: Nos. 41 and 52 in the second round and No. 71 in the third round. The team now has nine total selections this year.
