Broncos trade 5th-round pick to 49ers for 6th-round pick and LB Dekoda Watson

The Denver Broncos have traded a fifth-round pick (No. 148) to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a sixth-round pick (No. 212) and linebacker Dekoda Watson.

The Broncos now have one pick remaining in the final three rounds of the draft: Nos. 156 (fifth round), 212 (sixth round) and 237 (seventh round). Denver has selected four players in the draft so far.

Watson (6-2, 245 pounds) is probably a familiar name to most Broncos fans. He spent the 2016 season in Denver, appearing in all 16 games. Watson was a special teams ace during his last stint with the team.

Watson, 31, entered the league as a seventh-round pick out of Florida State with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010. He went on to spend time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Broncos and 49ers.

Entering his 10th season, Watson has totaled 152 tackles and six sacks in his career. He will likely provide depth as a rotational player on defense and contribute on special teams in 2019.
