Broncos to trade for Ravens QB Joe Flacco

The Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens have agreed on a trade involving quarterback Joe Flacco, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday morning. The news has since been confirmed by multiple media outlets.

The deal will not become official until the new league year begins on March 13 so Denver and Baltimore can’t comment on the move until then. The Broncos are believed to be sending the Ravens a fourth-round pick in the trade, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Denver will make Flacco its new starting quarterback and the team will presumably try to trade Case Keenum. If the Broncos do not restructure Flacco’s contract, he will be due to earn $18.5 million in 2019. Keenum is set to earn $18 million this season — cutting him would result in a $10 million dead money cap hit.

Flacco, 34, beat Denver in the 2012 playoffs on his way to a Super Bowl victory. He has completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 38,245 yards and 212 touchdowns against 136 interceptions in his career.
