Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman injures knee vs. Colts

Broncos tight end Jeff Heuerman left Sunday’s game against the Colts with a knee injury in the second quarter. The team announced that Heuerman is questionable to return to the game.

Before leaving the game, Heuerman caught one pass for 11 yards. The 26-year-old tight end has caught eight passes for 78 yards this year.

Heuerman signed a two-year, $8 million contract extension with Denver in March. He was selected by the Broncos in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft out of Ohio State.

With Troy Fumagalli inactive, Denver’s only remaining tight ends are Noah Fant and Andrew Beck, who is listed as a fullback on the depth chart.

The Broncos currently lead Indianapolis 6-0 late in the first half.
