Broncos sign WR Josh Malone to practice squad, cut 2 players

The Denver Broncos have signed wide receiver Josh Malone to their 16-player practice squad, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.

Malone (6-3, 205 pounds) is a 25-year-old receiver who entered the league as a fourth-round pick out of Tennessee with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2016. After spending the first two years of his career in Cincy, Malone played for the New York Jets from 2019-2020.

Malone has totaled 11 catches for 91 yards and one touchdown in 26 career games. He played in four games with the Jets last season.

The Broncos needed to add more depth at receiver after losing Diontae Spencer (chest), Jerry Jeudy (ankle) and KJ Hamler (knee) to injuries.

In addition to signing Malone, Denver also cut cornerback Rojesterman Farris and offensive lineman Harry Crider from the practice squad. The Broncos still have one open spot remaining on the practice squad.

Denver is preparing to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road this week.
