Broncos sign former Falcons CB Rashard Causey

The Broncos must have seen something they liked from Rashard Causey in the Hall of Fame Game a couple weeks ago.

According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, Denver is signing the former Atlanta cornerback. Causey didn’t play many snaps and committed a pass interference penalty on fourth down that help set the Broncos up for the game-winning touchdown. Nevertheless, he’s going to get another look.

Causey is a rookie who played college football at UCF. In 23 games, he posted 49 solo tackles (four for a loss), two sacks, seven pass breakups and three fumble recoveries. He had a breakout senior season but he still went undrafted.

The Falcons released Causey last weekend. His spot on the 90-man roster went to former Jets safety Ronald Martin.

Update:

Denver has announced the move.

The Broncos say they released linebacker Jeff Holland to make room for Causey on their roster.
