Broncos select WR D.K. Metcalf in Doug Farrar’s latest NFL mock draft

The Denver Broncos use the 10th overall pick in the first round to select Mississippi wide receiver D.K. Metcalf in Doug Farrar’s latest 2019 NFL mock draft (view the complete mock here).

“The Broncos, who are bridging their quarterback situation with Joe Flacco, can use all the receiver help they can get,” Farrar wrote.

Denver traded away Demaryius Thomas last year so the team is a bit thin at wide receiver but the Broncos just drafted Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton in 2018. It’s hard to imagine general manager John Elway passing on quarterbacks, linebackers and cornerbacks for a receiver at No. 10.

Metcalf turned heads at the NFL combine earlier this offseason, running a 40-yard dash in 4.33 seconds. Thanks to his speed and large frame (6-3, 228 pounds), Metcalf has drawn comparisons to Atlanta Falcons star receiver Julio Jones.

Metcalf would be a great weapon for Denver on offense but, again, it’s hard to imagine the team selecting a WR at No. 10.
