Broncos select LB Devin Bush in 2019 NFL mock draft

In his latest four-round 2019 NFL mock draft, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has the Denver Broncos selecting Michigan linebacker Devin Bush with the 10th overall pick in the first round. Here’s his explanation for the selection:

This may seem like a reach, but Bush backed up his impressive film with a fantastic performance at the combine. Given his complete skill set, with rare athleticism for his size, don’t be surprise if Bush cracks the top 10 for a team that needs that kind of playmaker at the heart of their defense.

Bush (5-11, 234 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 21 times at the NFL combine. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared him to Stephen Tulloch, who was a fourth-round pick out of North Carolina State in the 2006 NFL draft.

During his three years with the Wolverines, Bush totaled 172 tackles — including 18.5 tackles for losses — and 10 sacks. He also broke up 11 passes and intercepted a pass. He would provide a big upgrade to the Broncos’ depth at inside linebacker.

In the next three rounds, Easterling has Denver selecting Alabama tight end Irv Smith (No. 42), Western Illinois defensive lineman Khalen Saunders (No. 71) and West Virginia quarterback Will Grier (No. 125). That would be quite a haul of quality players for the Broncos.
