Broncos safety Will Parks should have a strong market as a free agent

The Broncos have several notable defenders set to become free agents this spring, including safety Justin Simmons, cornerback Chris Harris and defensive linemen Shelby Harris and Derek Wolfe.

One of the team’s lesser-known defenders, safety Will Parks, is also about to become a free agent and he might generate interest from multiple teams once NFL free agency begins in March. NFL Network’s James Palmer indicated earlier this week that multiple teams will be interested in Parks next month.

“I’ve talked to people around the league [and] there is a market for Will Parks,” Palmer said on NFL Now on Thursday. “He played slot corner for them, he is a tough guy that plays everywhere — they consider him a very valuable piece of their defense.

“He’s a guy that has a sleepy market out there for teams that are interested in him. We know the Broncos already have to pay Kareem Jackson, one of their safeties and then Justin Simmons . . . there’s probably no room for Parks.”

Parks was selected by Denver in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL draft out of Arizona. He has served mostly as a rotational defensive back since then, totaling 148 tackles, one sack and four interceptions in 62 games.
