Broncos re-sign DL Zach Kerr to 2-year contract

The Denver Broncos have re-signed defensive lineman Zach Kerr to a two-year contract, general manager John Elway announced Friday.

Kerr (6-2, 334 pounds) entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware with the Indianapolis Colts in 2014. After spending the first three years of his career with the Colts, Kerr signed a two-year deal with the Broncos in 2017.

In Denver’s 3-4 defense, Kerr plays as a rotational interior defensive lineman (he did start one game in 2017). Over the last two years, Kerr has recorded 52 tackles and two sacks. He also broke up two passes.

In his career, Kerr has recorded 116 tackles and 7.5 sacks. He will add more depth to the Broncos’ defensive line and will likely remain a rotational player in 2019.

The 28-year-old Kerr now re-joins Denver’s group of defensive lineman that includes Derek Wolfe, Adam Gotsis, Shelby Harris, DeMarcus Walker and Caushaud Lyons. The Broncos will likely add more depth to the defensive line in April’s draft.
