Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay: ‘You don’t want to be the only Colorado team not in the playoffs’

The Denver Nuggets pulled off a comeback after going down 3-1 to the Utah Jazz in the NBA Playoffs. The Colorado Avalanche will aim to pull off a similar comeback in the NHL Playoffs in their series with the Dallas Stars.

The Colorado Rockies had an embarrassing loss last night but they are still in contention to make the MLB Playoffs.

The biggest sports team in town — the Denver Broncos — are aiming to snap a four-year playoff drought when the NFL returns this fall. The Broncos are using the Nuggets and Avalanche as inspiration.

“Let’s be real — you don’t want to be the only Colorado team not in the playoffs,” running back Phillip Lindsay said after practice Wednesday. “That doesn’t feel good to have basketball doing well and you have hockey doing well. The Rockies — they were doing well, and now they have to get back on track. You don’t want to be that odd man out. You know what I mean?

“Studies and facts show that when Colorado does well all around, it’s just a better environment. When we were at Colorado and we went to the Pac-12 championship, it was a better environment for everybody. Even the fans, it was just better. You had the Broncos shining at that time. It just makes things better for people. People, for some reason, they’re happier.”

Denver will host the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football in Week 1. A win in their season opener would certainly make Broncos fans happy.
